Before and after compositing a scene
Lone Stargazer is my final university film based on my own original work that I chose to use as a basis for this project. Following the character of Orion Winnomar as he goes out for a late night stroll below the ruins of a crashed space station.
Throughout this project I taught myself how to sculpt, retopologise and also improved on my lighting and compositing skills by incorporating Nuke into my workflow with the use of the recent light groups addition to Blender.
During this project I also had external help from other people on my course including friends from outside of university where I had to make sure I was giving them the correct information in order to provide what I was looking for throughout the project.
After university I have been going back and updating various assets from the project such as remaking parts of Orion's character model to have updated hands or an improved hood model based on updated sketches I had done. I have also started work on other character models from my concept art as a way to further my sculpting skills.
It is still so surreal to have seen this project come together as it is one of the largest undetakings I have ever done and I hope to be able to do more with this in the future!
